My Bicycling Phase (1981-1995) pre autism Dx

I have worn over 40 hats in my life, probably nearer to 50 now. Most of my gigs didn’t pay but this one did.

During the summer of 1981, after my third year of Journalism school, I got an Experience grant to write a book on cycling in Ottawa (now Out of Print):

The Ottawa Bicycle Book (1982)

  • Publisher ‏ : ‎ Steel Rail Publishing, 1982; there are copies in the Ottawa room of the Ottawa Public Library, and in Library & Archives Canada
  • ISBN-10 ‏ : ‎ 0887910270
  • ISBN-13 ‏ : ‎ 978-0887910272

and co-edited another when I was Acting Director of Recreation and Transportation of the Canadian Cycling Association (there may be used copies around): I was a CAN-BIKE National Examiner for several years, following in the footsteps of the late, great, probably autistic John Forester, son of CS Forester.

The Canadian Cycling Association’s Complete Guide to Bicycle Touring in Canada (1994)

  • Publisher ‏ : ‎ Doubleday Canada (April 1 1994)
  • ISBN-10 ‏ : ‎ 0385254156
